Every season offers us teachings about the cycles of nature and how they are similar to the cycles of our lives. Through these lessons, we can achieve a greater understanding of ourselves and our unique place in the world.

Summer is the season of the heart, noble passions and love. Summer's heat reminds us of love's intensity. The sun shines its brightest in summer and so do we when our hearts are open to the power of love. All things are beautiful and fully engaged in summer. It is a time to express ourselves fully and freely.

One of summer's most challenging lessons is to learn to express ourselves in ways that benefit us and others. With practice, we can understand and control our feelings. We can set aside feelings of anger, hurt or grief, feelings that weigh us down, in order to achieve a healthy expression of our emotions. By releasing our negative feelings, we can become a clear-thinking, more effective and happier human being.
