Mid-Winter Gay Men’s Mountain Retreat
- Sunday, January 13, 2019 - Monday, January 14, 2019
2:00 pm - 12:00 pm
The first few weeks of the New Year are a great time to decompress from the holiday stress and reflect on the past and the future. To start the new year right, Colorado ManREACH invites you to our Mid Winter Gay Men’s Mountain Retreat in a beautiful, secluded mountain setting near Leadville, Colorado.
We have reserved “sleep yurts” at the Tennessee Pass Nordic Center for the evening of Sunday, January 13, 2019. Our plan is to arrive at Tennessee Pass at 2:00 on Sunday afternoon, share a great meal, and pass a cozy evening among friends. On the next morning, we will have a light continental breakfast, enjoy more activities, and end in the early afternoon.
This will be a “semi-rustic” experience. The Sleep Yurts are off-the-hook and off-the-grid, beautifully furnished with handcrafted log beds (full linens including down comforters), and gorgeous soapstone wood stoves. The Yurts are communal (which means everyone sleeps in the open) and there is water in the yurt, but the bathroom is an outhouse. To get from the Nordic Center to the Yurts is a 1.3 mile hike; the staff of the Center will transport our bags to/from.
There are two fee options. For $60, you agree to share a bed with someone (you get to pick who), and for $100, you get a bed to yourself; however, all the beds are in a communal space. Your fee will include the Sunday dinner and Monday morning continental breakfast. Feel free to bring snacks and drinks to share but we would like to remind everyone that this and every ManREACH event is drug and alcohol free to support our brothers in recovery!
We will play some games, talk about New Years resolutions, do activities to get to know each other, and conduct our famous heart circle. Start the new year off right with good intentions, lots of love, and a ton of Colorado winter fun. See you there!
